Rob, what brand garage door did you use? All the ones I see would not seal well enough to allow you to keep the environment that you are in the shed. One of my pet peeves for roll up doors.

Funny thing about Ron. It turns out his business is local to me! He is a Katrina exile that moved up here after his shop in Louisiana was flooded and never left. It is the most nondescript building in a not very good part of town that you can imagine. I had him do some work for me (balance a flywheel on an old BMW motorcycle) before I knew who he was. He is a really nice guy that evidently does some good engine work. Definitely low key compared to some of the other big engine builder names we hear about.

About to start snowing here now. That's not a big deal, only an inch or two. What is a big deal is the ice they are predicting. Looks like I get the afternoon off!

C.H.I Overhead door . Super nice door. I went with the 10.29 r value insulation. I believe mine is the Commercial door, 3285. Windows were another $250. I cheeped out and didn't get them. Kind of would like them now

A whole lot of pistons and rods are coming my way. Said screw it bought the set plus Ron is going to throw a couple pistons only in the box. This way I have spare's in case I find more cracked or bad in the other engine. Or maybe someone some day will need one and Ill be able to help a brother out I can't believe prices they get for new ones!

    Recommendations on rings ? These?

Are the rings on these je-700 pistons specific to mercruiser and have to use their rings being the metric ring pac? PN: 827660

Ron said he uses total seal. However Im not sure what rings with the stock pistons.

Not used to that are you buddy!

The snow and ice ended up thinning out around Birmingham so locally we are not bad today. The roads are pretty clear. The bad news is that it is 7 degrees with a high forecast of 22. We are not geared for that here. Gonna be a lot of busted pipes around here.

It makes you realize how dependent on (and how much we take for granted) technology we are. One flat tire, out of gas, texter clobbers you and at 7 degrees, you are in big trouble. Scary when you think about it.

First time getting the notorious reduced engine power massage this morning. Not bad 245k miles. Finally the throttle position sensor failed/going bad. Pretty common on the 06-09 trucks. $32 for a new one.

Had to order some spark plugs for the boat anyways. Rockauto crazy cheap on NGK plugs.

No sir not at all. I'm essential personnel so I have to be at work. Kinda interesting driving on ice. Only saw 1 wreck so far, and another on I10 someone died.
