Bayou Baja needs a jet drive in the worst possible way.

Ok professor then let's talk "ventilation" I WAS calling it a vent tube after all.

Opine on the topic as it relates to the question posed, if you would.

That's only a problem with the pickup tube shoved through a hole in the anti-cav plate. Those bolt on showers have the pickups out far enough that it doesn't matter....until you get a stick stuck in there. Then you fall off plane.

Well. With LT Dan we have a dual purpose example.

I really wish he could go to the game with me. I have an extra ticket.

About 2 hours away. Evidently all I need is a bag of popcorn.

Ok. Let's talk ventilation. Whales surface to breath and vent out of their tube which also gives them a shower. I hear that keeps them clean and cool also.

They may be useful on whales, but a boat? Only if you want a PWC in your dreams.

Time to do something useful like change the oil in the truck. Besides, I'm out of popcorn.

This type puts the pickups a couple of inches further from the prop than the single pickup types. More distance keeps the prop in cleaner water. Get it?

But I still need you to answer the question. If you have a single pickup drive shower on the "down stroke" side of the cavitation plate does it induce ventilation? If the portion of the pick up tube below the cav plate is of excessive length does that also disrupt flow and induce ventilation? Dayum this is like stacking cooked noodles.

Yes, it matters which side you put it on. Yes, that is dependent upon prop rotation. Yes, the tube length is critical (shorter is better). Yes, fore/aft location matters (you forgot that one). Fuck up one or more of these things and the prop will lose bite.

Or, 5 minutes to bolt up the other one and not worry about it until you're running through spring debris.

Lt Dan might be being ornery today but I'm not so sure that he's wrong. I know a few "powerboat nerds" that would agree with him....unless of course they were selling drive showers.

I put those on 2 different gens of alpha drives and a B1X so I can't say fo sho.

We get channel 10 (NBC) out of Miami. 'Cane coverage has been excellent.

Or go to an ABATE meeting. Up to you.
