Right. If you have a Yamaha dealer you might check with them; they bought Turbo about 10 years ago.

Doubt they have it over here. EBay and put it in the other stuff coming from the US. But yeah, depends on price, might have to wait untill spring.

Maybe not, but FWIW they sell them here in Costa Rica. Yamaha outboards are sold new with them.

If I never need a rebuild, this is likely what I will do. If you decide to go that route, call Jeff Harris and ask his thoughts on it. He mentioned the other day the kits have some "quirks" It would be interesting to get his take on it before committing to it. He is going to get my boat next spring for some general maintenance and I'll be sure to pick his brain about it.

Edit: Maintenance as in Impeller swap. Hey Josh, tell us how much fun the pump swap was.

Yeah. KeFurr just doesn't know what good friends he has. He definitely owes us a Bushwhacker or three.

You've missed (and you are missing) a lot. Probably because all your friends drive Islanders and you don't have one.

Humm. Come to think of it, we probably have more Islander owners on here than closed bow owners. I see the dawn of a new age of enlightenment!

Any of you having trouble (or have had trouble) with the exhaust diverters opening? The solenoids stall when trying to open them, particularly if the engine is not running (vibrating). It has to be either weak solenoids or low voltage. Either that, or I've got the return springs installed wrong, and I mean what can you do wrong there? These are pretty simple devices. They work smoothly cycling them by hand.

If I have it on quiet, mine like to open on their own after a period of time. Not always and not a big deal to me.....I like it loud.....

Now I need to find my tab gremlin....

No way mine would overcome the springs and open on their own. I must have something installed incorrectly. Thanks JB.

Mines work Fine. If youres are opening while running its a weak spring. The solenoids, i believe are Extended with no voltage. (Closed to divert exhaust thru prop). And retract when powered (open for thru hull). If Thats what youre referring to. But Dan, i thought you blockd off your Y for thru prop exhaust and setup for transom éxit only?

Like i told capn Kefurr the other day. mine work but one of them, maybe both, rattle when closed (thru prop).

My thru transom is so quiet, theres not much different between the two.

Mine don't rattle. There are rubber edges on the diverter butterflies. Yours may be gone or the butterflies may not be closing all the way. You can see the butterflies easily through the tips. Or maybe not. JB's boat was quiet all the time also. Turns out he had muffled tips on there in addition to the captains call. Look in the tips. Should be nothing but a big hole up to the diverter.
