Surprised you don't notice the stern lift/bow over feeling with full tab. That's a head scratcher.

My 26 was like that. More drag than lift with full tab deflection. 1/2 tab or so was about all I ever used.

    Fuck Bama!

And honestly I don't notice much difference with tabs down trying to plane with the 4 blade. "Seems" to help a little with the 3 blade. Can't say for sure.

I rode on top of the crusier and wakeboard slop yesterday on the way back to the ramp 45-47 MPH. Kicked the waters ass. Wife said it seemed smoother compared to the way out at 30 MPH or so but it "felt" to fast in her opinion.

Big difference in a Lake that has some rock walls compared to one that doesn't. My guess is is kind of similar to how the water acts at LOTO, not near as bad as the pics I saw on FB leaving the shootout.

I wanted to go to Jordan, but went to Martin knowing it would be pretty nasty. We found a couple nice coves to drop anchor in where we didn't get a lot of wake which was nice.

    1. Mirage 23P doesn't plane worth a hoot, even with tabs. The Bravo 1 24P made a hell of a difference.

Im Going 4blade next season. The M21p planes ok I guess i mean its a big boat with not enough torque. A 24v turbo Cummins would fix that Haha!

Not impressive stock and Baja put thousands of them in the market. Tells you ONE THING it is the fastest. I wouldn't run one stock either.

Baja's parent company owned Mercury Marine. I'm guessing that's why Baja used their props. The guy that ran the 25OL in the shootout for several years (always winning his class) ran Mazco props.

Baja used the Mirage + was my point not The Bravo 1 for many years on many boats. Maybe the bravo wasn't on the market yet. Both Merc pros obviously.

Perhaps they felt top speed was their customers most desired trait of a prop. Not me. I'd gladly sacrifice a few mph WOT for easier planning, no blow out, and better cruise mph. Now I have the option to have this 24P labbed for more WOT mph while retaining the other traits I'd prefer to have.

You can really tell the standard 496 doesn't quite have enough grunt to turn this prop. You can no longer get close to the rev limiter while planning, and WOT rpm is only 4600. With a stock 23P, WOT rpm is around 4900. If only I had the HO, the Bravo 24P would be a perfect stock prop.

Dirt for pull through is down. Now just have to pack it, and call the rock truck.

Possibly a 22/23p 4 blade would be a Better performer on the base 496?

I think Dan is onto something here. He suggested trying the Bravo 22P on a standard 496. You lose 1* of pitch from the Mirage, but gain a 4th blade. It may give you the perfect compromise of both a Mirage and a Bravo on a non-HO 496.

If I wasn't already shopping for a bigger boat, I would have purchased a Raylar package and been done with it. However, I recognize the Outlaw I currently have isn't the perfect vessel for the wife and I.

In the supercharged Yamaha SVHO Waverunner world, the best badass impeller to upgrade to is a Solas 13/20. Removing 2* of pitch was the magic touch to make it stupid awesome, becoming a 13/18. I feel you have two options with the 496 using a 24P Bravo. Either remove some pitch to increase rpm, or upgrade the engine for 50-100 more HP and torque. We know which is cheaper. BBlades can even thin the blades for less water resistance.

I guess it depends what it's pushing as well.

Per BBlades the 21p + is the fast prop on my hull with a 496 Mag. Hit 60.1 with it stock. Fastest I've turned it labbed is 58 with pretty much a full fuel tank, 4 on board and the Bimini top open.

EDIT. And if you want to plane easy. Try a REV 4

It's just different characteristics. The fourth blade tends to lift the stern which changes how its able to carry the bow. Without hanging the bow out a Baja isn't going very fast. Not that it's going very fast anyway, jus sayn. I don't think a stock Bravo 1 will "out cruise" the grind. It improved dramatically mid range throttle response and cruise speed. No more blow out, ever.

With a slogan like "Speed changes You" I'd say yes, they were looking for top end numbers.

So are you saying the labbed wheel is slower or the load changed? Were you full house plus pig heavy with fuel when you ran 60.1?

Conditions were ideal on the speed run. Hasn't happened with the labbed wheel.
